As a self taught photographer, I’ve learned through trial and error - more often the latter. This page partly documents that journey and partly reflects on the great fortune I’ve had during my time outdoor. I’ll try to add more galleries to this portfolio over time and I hope you stay interested enough to come back and check in.

Broad strokes

I’m a photographer still finding my identity. While I don’t quite know my own style, you as a viewer may see a style emerge from your perspective. This is my mixed bag from the last several years in the wilderness. Consider this as a body of work with little identity, some variety, and a lot of discovery.

The ghost town

From a thriving mining town in the middle of the Namibian diamond rush, Kolmanskop is now a mere ghost town that succumbs to the desert every single day. I spent a day here in 2019, wandering the sands in reflection. These images are a slice of my personal experience in this forsaken place.

Namib monotones

The Namib is the most spectacular, yet most desolate landscape I’ve ever visited. This portfolio of monochrome images is an attempt to showcase the timelessness of this ecosystem. Experience a slice of this wilderness of sand, rocks, vegetation and scant wildlife.

Colonial legacy

In the ǁKaras region of Namibia, lies a quaint little town called Luderitz. Small enough that you can walk around the whole place in an afternoon, the town's colonial architecture, including some Art Nouveau work makes for great visual interest.

Into the Kruger

At close to 20,000 km2, Kruger is one of Africa’s greatest reserves - a veritable Noah’s ark. In September 2022, I spent a couple of weeks here with my family. This story is my attempt to relive that experience.

Silver shades of Africa

In this portfolio, I attempt to reimagine my wildlife experiences in the African bush, through monochromatic interpretations of those scenes. This is a growing collection of images that I also offer as prints.
